Hanoi Police will hold a press briefing on the afternoon of April 6 to disclose details of major cases that have drawn public attention in recent times. The briefing will cover a case involving violations of accounting regulations at Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd., in Hai Bà Trưng district, Hanoi, along with other cases at the National Psychiatric Forensic Institute and several local units, including violations of food safety regulations, abuse of power, misappropriation of assets, and misrepresentation in business in Hanoi and other localities.
Earlier, at 4:00 PM on March 25 in Hanoi, authorities appeared at two Bao Tin Minh Chau gold shops on Tran Nhan Tong Street and Cau Giay Street, drawing public attention. Some photographs from that date were recorded. Authorities conducted inspections inside the shops, and several CPU computer casings and related documents were sealed for verification. At the same time, the stores were closed and operations paused; outside, staff did not greet customers and the shops appeared shuttered.
In 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam issued administrative penalties against several gold-trading enterprises, ranging from 380 million VND to more than 2.6 billion VND. Bao Tin Minh Chau received the highest penalty, up to 2.64 billion VND. The penalties reflected systemic violations in the operation and management of the business.

Beyond administrative violations, Bao Tin Minh Chau was found to have signs of misleading information about products to attract customers from other companies, a practice linked to unhealthy competition and said to negatively impact the market. Due to the complexity of the case, after approval by the Governor of the State Bank, the inspectorate officially transferred all information and case files to the Public Security.
