The signing ceremony between Long Châu, Sandoz and the Ho Chi Minh City Respiratory Society on April 14 marks a significant step in advancing community health. With more than 2,500 pharmacies nationwide, Long Châu acts as the first health touchpoint, helping disseminate accurate medical information and support safe antibiotic use.
Sandoz, drawing on global expertise in pharmaceuticals, will provide advanced treatment solutions and training for Long Châu’s pharmacy staff. A primary objective of the collaboration is to raise the professional capacity of pharmacists through intensive training programs focused on respiratory infections, standardizing pharmaceutical practice, and enhancing community counseling.
The Ho Chi Minh City Respiratory Society will serve as the medical science partner, ensuring scientific accuracy of all educational materials and helping translate clinical evidence into practical guidelines.
By combining Sandoz’s global expertise with Long Châu’s nationwide network, the partnership is designed to build a more comprehensive health ecosystem. The expected outcome is improved treatment outcomes for individual patients, alongside strengthened public health protection.
The initiative aligns with the spirit of the Politburo’s Directive 72-NQ/TW and Government Resolution 282/NQ-CP. The collaboration is intended to deliver positive, lasting changes for the community by improving how respiratory infections are addressed through better-informed pharmacy practice and counseling.
Mr. Charaf Eddine Kadri, CEO of Sandoz Vietnam, emphasized that better treatment outcomes start not only with access to medicines but also with understanding and support for patients.
Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy General Director of FPT Retail and CEO of Long Châu’s Pharmacy Chain, said Long Châu’s pharmacists will strive to become the “front line” of health care for millions of Vietnamese families, adding that the collaboration represents a significant step toward higher quality health care in Vietnam.
