Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Construction is studying proposals to add underground and surface parking lots in areas managed by the Public Transport Management Center, aiming to make it easier for residents to park private vehicles and switch to public transport.
At a press conference on the afternoon of April 23, Mr. Nguyen Do Anh Tu, Deputy Head of the Road Traffic Construction Management Office under the Department, said the Department is preparing investment proposals for parking facilities at locations managed by the Center, including the Bus Station 23/9 Park, Tan Phu, and Cho Lon.
Mr. Tu said that after policy approval, the projects are expected to be implemented and completed between now and 2027. The Department expects the measures to support stronger public passenger transport and help reduce congestion.

The Department is also implementing a plan to flexibly allocate lanes by time of day on Cong Hoa Street (a three-lane road). Mr. Tu said the plan is expected to be completed before mid-May.
