Nam A Bank (HOSE: NAB) reported positive business results for the first quarter of 2026, with profitability growth supported by improved capital efficiency and comprehensive risk management. At the end of Q1 2026, the bank posted pre-tax profit of over VND 1,620 billion, up 32.5% year-on-year.
The bank’s return metrics and cost control remained strong. ROE exceeded 21%, while the cost-to-income ratio (CIR) was tightly controlled at 39.2%. Asset quality also improved, with the non-performing loan ratio falling to 1.6% (as CIC).
In the first three months of 2026, pre-tax profit reached over VND 1,620 billion, up 32.5% year-on-year. Efficiency metrics placed Nam A Bank among market leaders, with ROE at 21.5% (top 6 banks – 2025 ROE), up from 19.3% a year earlier. ROA rose to 1.3%.
Nam A Bank attributed its profit growth to diversification of income streams, reducing reliance on traditional lending and improving overall operating efficiency.
The bank also emphasized prudent credit risk provisioning to support comprehensive risk management, contributing to optimized operating efficiency alongside improving asset quality.
Overall, Q1 2026 results showed continued strong growth in profitability and earnings efficiency, supported by controlled costs, improved returns, and a lower non-performing loan ratio.
