On the afternoon of May 11, at the National Convention Center, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026–2031 term began its first session. A total of 1,136 official delegates were summoned to participate, representing various classes, the people, ethnic groups, religions, armed forces, overseas Vietnamese, and Front cadres at all levels.
The congress was attended by Ms. Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Secretary of the Front’s Central Executive Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee for the X term. Other attendees included colleagues who are members of the Party Central Committee, former members of the Central Committee, and alternate members.
The congress approved a Presidium of 33 members and a Congress Secretariat of 3 people. It also approved the program and the working regulations of the congress.
On behalf of the Presidium, Ms. Lê Thị Thủy, a member of the Communist Party’s Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and President of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, presented a report on the attendance of delegates.

In terms of education, 899 delegates hold university degrees or higher (79%). This includes 67 professors or associate professors with doctorates, 111 doctors, 316 masters, and 405 with bachelor’s degrees.
Age distribution is as follows:
The oldest delegate is Lieutenant General Vo Sở, Chairman of the Heritage Association of Truong Son – Ho Chi Minh Trail (97 years old, born 1929). The youngest delegate is Ms. Lo Thi Nga, a notable Lao ethnic individual from Ban Muong Luang 1, Muong Luang commune, Dien Bien province (23 years old, born 2003).
Thus, the total of 1,136 official delegates meets the eligibility and standards for attending the congress under the regulations. With the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Innovation – Creativity – Development,” the congress defines orientations, goals, and an action program for the 2026–2031 term to meet the realities and requirements faced by the country.
The congress also reaffirms the central political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in uniting and mobilizing the people, promoting patriotic traditions, leveraging the strength of great national unity, and joining with the Party, the army, and the people to accomplish the country’s development goals through 2030 with a vision to 2045. It also highlights milestones including the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (1930–2030) and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (1930–2030).
