On April 23, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Cooperative Trade (Saigon Co.op) launched the birthday month for Co.opmart’s 30th anniversary, officially kicking off anniversary activities and what it described as the year’s largest promotions at more than 800 points nationwide. The program runs as the country prepares for Liberation Day on April 30, with a focus on a retail network that serves millions of households, supports Vietnamese goods, and promotes domestic consumption.
Under the theme “30 years of a Vietnamese brand – the people’s homemaker,” Saigon Co.op highlighted Co.opmart’s role over three decades as a “friend of every home.” The retailer said it has maintained a commitment to quality and clear origins for products, and has worked to keep prices stable even amid market volatility linked to natural disasters, supply disruptions, or rising costs.
Saigon Co.op also said the anniversary marks a new phase of “green retail” development, alongside continued upgrades to facilities, diversified sourcing, and improved services to match modern consumption needs.
During the event, Saigon Co.op rolled out the “30 years – Green Commitment” campaign across its system, targeting the reduction of single-use nylon bags and encouraging eco-friendly shopping habits.
Saigon Co.op said more than 800 outlets—including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, FineLife, Cheers, Co.op Smile, Sense Shopping Center, and Co.op Online—jointly launched a promotions program from April 23 to May 13, 2026.
The retailer reported that the campaign includes:
For the “seven golden days” from April 23 to 29, 2026, Saigon Co.op said it would give 30,000 Dutch Lady milk cartons each day to the earliest shopping members at Co.opmart, Co.opmart Pro, and Co.opXtra.
On weekends, the retailer added experiential activities, including “Choose fast, price right” (April 25–26), where customers took part in a product-picking challenge set to a single song. Saigon Co.op said the two customers with the total value of their carts equal to or closest to 1 million VND would receive all products selected.
Member customers also received additional privileges, including:
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
