Stocks turned green as the VN-Index rose by more than 13 points, supported by the banking group, the oil and gas sector, and Vingroup shares. At the opening, stocks gained more than 10 points and stayed in positive territory for most of the session. Throughout the day, the HOSE index generally traded in a range of about 1,750 to 1,760 points.
In the morning, the market briefly moved above the reference by around 26 points, led by banking stocks. The sector saw active buying, alongside foreign investors accumulating shares.
By late morning, oil and gas and fertilizer stocks also strengthened. Cash flow into these two groups remained strong into the afternoon and became one of the main supports for the overall index, with BSR reaching its ceiling price.
With support from these sectors, the VN-Index rose by more than 13 points and closed at 1,750 points.
Despite the advance, market breadth was not broad: on the HOSE floor, 164 stocks rose, compared with 144 that declined. Liquidity on HOSE fell by more than 4.2 trillion dong to nearly 24.7 trillion dong. In the morning, aggressive buyers were more dominant, while the market gradually balanced in the afternoon.
Foreign investors returned to net buying, with net purchases of about 841 billion dong, ending a five-session net-selling streak. Demand was strongest in TCB, HPG, MBB, and VNM.
Beyond banking, oil and gas, and fertilizer, the index was also supported by VIC. Vingroup shares rose 1.7% to 151,700 dong per share, contributing more than 4 points to the VN-Index.
In the pre-market briefing, VPBank Securities (VPX) said that if the 1,700–1,730 point zone is maintained for 1–2 sessions, the VN-Index is likely to consolidate further before testing again the 1,740–1,750 point range, with longer-term upside to 1,780 points.
Accordingly, VPX recommended continuing to hold existing positions and limiting chasing buys on strong rebounds. Investors may consider short-term buying opportunities when the index retreats to around 1,700 points in groups attracting cash. The guidance also suggests maintaining positions in stocks rising strongly, and gradually increasing weights or deploying capital in stocks showing notable liquidity growth that have not risen much from support levels.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
