Sun Group has formally inaugurated Sun Hospital Phu Quoc, the second hospital in the Sun Healthcare system after the facility in Hanoi.
Sun Hospital Phu Quoc was invested in and completed within eight months. The hospital covers about 10,000 square meters and is located in the center of An Thoi ward, adjacent to key facilities for APEC.
The facility includes nine main departments: General Medicine; Internal Medicine; General Surgery; Resuscitation and Toxicology; Radiology and Functional Diagnostics; Anesthesia and Pain Management; Pediatrics – Vaccination; Pharmacy; and Laboratory.
Bringing the hospital into operation is part of broader preparations for APEC 2027 on Phu Quoc. The project is described as the earliest completed infrastructure item in the event-related pipeline, serving as a kickoff step intended to accelerate progress on other items.
Integrating a medical facility into the APEC preparedness system also reflects a focus on health safety for event organization. The hospital is expected to support Phu Quoc’s capacity to host international events by ensuring medical care for delegations, businesspeople, and visitors.
The hospital’s capabilities include emergency services, cardiovascular interventions, and on-site stroke management. These services are intended to help shorten reaction times in emergencies, reducing risk and meeting health requirements for large-scale events.
Beyond APEC 2027, the hospital is also designed to meet healthcare needs for local residents and visitors. The service network is intended to connect from the airport to resorts and entertainment venues across the island, supported by a rapid-response team and 24/7 emergency capacity.
