AI-written code is becoming one of the most popular applications of artificial intelligence, as large language models increasingly assist in programming. This trend began in 2021 when Microsoft launched GitHub Copilot, a coding tool developed in collaboration with OpenAI. Initially, AI tools could only suggest a few lines of code and still required thorough testing, but technology has rapidly improved. By 2025, Anthropic introduced Claude Code, enabling software prototyping from just a few commands. The tool quickly drew attention for its ability to automate much of the programming process, rather than merely assist as before. Not only Anthropic; OpenAI also developed Codex, and Google integrated many programming features into its AI ecosystem. The competition among major tech firms is driving AI-written code to become a core area. A 2025 study found that about 98% of respondents reported using AI-written code several times a week. This indicates the technology's growing ubiquity within the programming community. A notable trend is “vibe coding” — programming by specifying requirements and letting AI execute, rather than writing code manually. The concept was proposed by AI expert Andrej Karpathy, opening up the possibility for non-programmers to create basic software. However, reliance on AI also carries risks, particularly in terms of technical errors, security, and privacy when users must grant access to data for these tools. In that context, many tech companies are restructuring their workforce, with multiple rounds of layoffs believed to be related to AI adoption to boost productivity. Additionally, AI-written code could reshape the software business model, as users could create products on demand rather than purchasing ready-made solutions. Despite ongoing debate, experts say AI-written code will continue to develop and play an important role in the tech industry, while also presenting new challenges in employment and security in the future. Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
