This afternoon (April 7), the National Assembly heard the report from the ballot-counting board on the results of the vote for the Prime Minister. The draft resolution to elect the Prime Minister was approved. After that, the Prime Minister took the oath of office and delivered a sworn statement.
This morning (April 7), the National Assembly voted to approve the draft Resolution on the structure of the Government for the 2026–2031 term. It also approved the list to elect the Prime Minister, Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and the head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. Subsequently, the National Assembly elected the Prime Minister by secret ballot.
According to the program, this afternoon the National Assembly will meet in private to hear the ballot-counting board report on the results of the vote for the Prime Minister and pass the draft resolution electing the Prime Minister. Then, the Prime Minister will swear and deliver a sworn-in speech.
Also in the afternoon, the National Assembly will meet in private to proceed with the election of the Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and the head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. The procedure for approving the Chief Justice nomination will be implemented. Thereafter, the Chief Justice will take the oath and deliver a sworn-in speech.
Thereafter, the National Assembly will pass drafts of resolutions electing the Vice President and the head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. It will also proceed with the procedures to approve the Chief Justice’s proposal for appointing a judge of the Supreme People’s Court.
