On the morning of April 24, 2026, Nguyễn Trùng Khánh, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), met with Trương Đức Sơn, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi. At the meeting, VNAT Director Nguyễn Trùng Khánh highlighted that the Center has carried out practical and effective activities, serving as a bridge introducing Chinese culture to the Vietnamese public while also playing an important role in promoting tourism exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
Director Nguyễn Trùng Khánh said that cultural and tourism promotion programs implemented by Chinese localities in Vietnam through the Center have helped disseminate the image of China and its people to Vietnamese audiences. He expressed confidence that, as a cultural bridge, the Center will continue contributing to promoting tourism cooperation in line with the cooperation orientation agreed by senior leaders of both parties and both states.
Speaking at the meeting, Trương Đức Sơn said he hopes to continue receiving attention, support, and close coordination from VNAT to enhance the effectiveness of promotional and tourism promotion activities between Vietnam and China. He stated that the Center is ready to cooperate and assist in organizing activities and events related to cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
Referring to the future cooperation direction, Trương Đức Sơn noted that, according to the joint statement by senior leaders of the two countries, the period 2026–2027 has been identified as the “Year of Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation.” On that basis, the Center wishes to exchange with VNAT on solutions to boost bilateral tourism exchanges and cooperation, particularly during this period.
Director Nguyễn Trùng Khánh said VNAT is advising the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a plan to implement cooperation with four priority content groups:
In addition, the two sides will organize specialized seminars to share information, experience, and solutions in tourism management and development, with a focus on the management of tour groups to ensure service quality and safety for travelers.
