In response to information regarding the company’s leadership, BTMC said its business activities are continuing normally and that it is closely cooperating with authorities while ensuring the full rights and interests of customers and partners.
BTMC said it has been seriously cooperating with competent authorities by providing all documents and materials requested.
The company also stated that its business operations are currently normal and uninterrupted. It said it has streamlined its governance and operations toward independence, transparency, and professionalism. Since October 2024, Ms. Pham Lan Anh has served as director and legal representative of the company.
BTMC emphasized that all financial obligations and the rights of customers and partners are ensured in full compliance with regulations. It also said its gold and jewelry products meet strict standards for fineness, weight, and quality.
After official conclusions from authorities, BTMC said it will remedy issues and strictly comply with the law, with the aim of stabilizing operations, improving product quality and services, continuing to contribute to the state budget, supporting economic development and social welfare, and ensuring employment for workers.
The company said official information and updates will be published on its official channels. “The company apologizes for the concerns raised and hopes to continue receiving trust, companionship, and understanding from customers and partners,” the statement reads.
On 6/4, Hanoi Police held a press conference on the situation and results of security and order work in Q1/2026, including typical cases.
Regarding the accounting violation case at BTMC, Hanoi Police said it issued a decision to prosecute the case and charged four defendants with violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.
According to the investigation, BTMC’s production, purchase, and sale of gold and jewelry were led by Vu Minh Chau as CEO and legal representative.
From 28/10/2024 to present, Hanoi Police said Vu Minh Chau is no longer the legal representative of the company. Before 2024, Vu Minh Chau and his son Vu Minh Tu (Head of Independent Assistance) instructed accounting staff to use software including Hivi Gold, Hivi Gold Pro and Excel to manage and report taxes, while using accounting software Misa to file tax declarations.
From late 2024 to present, investigators said Vu Minh Chau instructed Vu Minh Tu and staff to delete all data on Hivi Gold and Hivi Gold Pro to avoid checks by authorities, and to switch to Excel with Fox AI to manage and track purchases. Investigators said the data was filtered, checked, and summarized by the accounting department before being uploaded to Misa for tax declarations.
Investigators determined that the company’s actual revenue from 2020 to 2023 was about 13,700 billion VND, approximately 9,700 billion VND higher than what was reported for tax purposes. Hanoi Police said this resulted in a state budget loss of about 150 billion VND.
As a result of searches at residences, workplaces, and locations of BTMC and related individuals, police seized 23.3 billion VND in cash, seven “red books,” along with numerous documents and items, and a large amount of gold and silver.
On 02/04/2026, Hanoi Police’s Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute Vu Minh Chau, Vu Minh Tu, and two accounting staff for the crime of violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.
Hanoi Police said the investigative agency continues to expand the case and clarify violations to be handled in accordance with the law.
