To implement major policy directions into life, the Fourth and Fifth teams of VnExpress continue the Business Confidence Survey for the first half of 2026. The survey follows a rebound in Vietnam’s economy driven by three key engines: exports, domestic demand, and investment. Vietnam’s GDP grew 7.83% in Q1, up from 7.07% in the same period last year.
The survey period also coincides with signs of renewed business activity. In the first three months, 96,000 enterprises registered to establish new businesses or resume operations. This was up 31.7% year on year and higher than the number withdrawing from the market (91,800).
To help implement the major policies of Resolution 68 and other important Politburo and National Assembly resolutions, Ban IV and VnExpress continue the CEOCI survey for the first half of 2026 from April 6 to April 20. Business opinions collected during the period will be aggregated into a report and submitted to the Prime Minister.
The Business Confidence 2026 survey is an annual effort by Ban IV and VnExpress. It asks participants to assess Vietnam’s economy today, with response options including “Very positive,” “Positive,” “Neutral,” “Negative,” and “Very negative.”
International organizations and experts have continued to rate Vietnam’s economic results and prospects highly. AMRO forecast that Vietnam would be among the region’s high-growth economies.
Despite the strong Q1 growth, the economy still faces difficulties amid a continuing complicated global situation and escalating tensions. The article notes that Q1 growth was strong but did not meet the target scenario, and that production and business for some enterprises remained challenging. It also points to gaps in local administrative operations at two levels.
The survey results are intended to support Ban IV in building an index to monitor and assess the ease of doing business in Vietnam. The Business Confidence report has been implemented since April 2022, attracting attention from the Government, Parliament, media agencies, and enterprises.
In addition to international indicators, the report includes indicators related to the effectiveness of Government policy, support from local authorities, and proposals from businesspeople on current affairs. Resolution 68 is also cited as contributing important contents drawn from the survey.
