In response to questions from reporters about companies selling gold via appointment slips, Colonel Chu An Thanh — Head of the Economic Police Department of Hanoi Police — said that through the investigation, the police also confirmed that the company sold gold to residents using appointment slips. "Currently, Bao Tin Minh Chau Gold and Silver Company is operating normally. We are creating conditions for the company to operate to ensure people’s rights," Thanh said. Thanh also said that the unit has not received any comments from residents during the process of buying gold with appointment slips. "For residents buying gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau, this is a civil transaction between the people and the enterprise. If the enterprise cannot repay, then upon request, whenock, or denunciation, the police will continue to clarify later," Thanh said. Regarding the case of violations of accounting regulations, Hanoi Police said they have prosecuted the case, indicted the defendants: Mr. Vu Minh Chau — former Director of Bao Tin Minh Chau; Mr. Vu Minh Tu — Head of Independent Assistant (Chau’s son) and two company employees. Investigators found that Chau and Tu directed staff to use two accounting software systems. From late 2024 to now, Chau directed Tu and staff to delete all data from the accounting software.
