The proprietary trading desk unexpectedly shifted to net selling in the 06/04 session, focusing on selling STB shares, while foreign investors reduced their selling pressure significantly.
In the 06/04 session, proprietary traders net sold more than 415 billion dong on HOSE. STB was the main target, with shares sold down by 543 billion dong. This represented a sharp contrast to 31/03, when the same group net bought STB by as much as 541 billion dong.
The net-sell gap between STB and other names was sizable. VPB ranked second with net selling of 143 billion dong, while NVL placed third with a much smaller net selling figure of 26 billion dong.
On the buying side, proprietary traders’ intraday purchases were concentrated in a few stocks. MSN and MWG led with net buying of around 48 billion dong each, followed by TCB with about 40 billion dong.
Foreign investors cooled somewhat as net selling narrowed to just over 120 billion dong. Selling pressure was mainly concentrated in banks, with TCB and MBB recording net outflows of about 94–95 billion dong each, followed by HDB with 85 billion dong.
On the contrary, VIC was the strongest net buyer with 62 billion dong, followed by GEX with 52 billion dong and VNM with 49 billion dong.
