On April 6, 2026, Da Huoai 3 Commune Police in Lâm Đồng Province said they had assisted in a case involving a mistaken transfer of nearly 500 million VND, helping the resident recover the full amount.
Earlier, on March 31, 2026, due to an oversight, Ms. N.T. Hà (residing in Hưng Yên) transferred nearly 500 million VND in error to an ACB bank account under the name Kon Sơ Ly Hối, residing in Hamlet 5, Da Huoai 3 commune, Lâm Đồng.
After the incident, Hà and her family contacted the recipient multiple times but received no response because Hối suspected the messages were related to a scam. The recipient’s account had not been used since 2021; Hối did not remember login information and did not know whether money had been transferred.
By April 2, 2026, Da Huoai 3 Commune Police received the report and requested support from Ms. Hà. The police then conducted investigations, proactively contacted the recipient, and explained the situation to clarify the matter.
They also assisted by taking Hối to the ACB branch in Ward 2 – Bảo Lộc to restore access to the account and facilitate the transfer back of the money.
After understanding the information, Ms. Kon Sơ Ly Hối demonstrated responsibility and honesty, voluntarily cooperated, and promptly returned the full amount to Ms. Hà. By the afternoon of April 2, 2026, Ms. Hà had recovered the full amount.
The police said the case, while straightforward, carries broader meaning by highlighting responsibility and dedication at the local level and reinforcing public trust through the value of honesty in the community.
