On the morning of April 7, the Bao Tin Minh Chau store in Cau Giay continued to operate normally. At the shop, locals said they maintained a calm attitude toward the arrest. Ms. Lan, a resident of Cau Giay, said she came early to buy gold for storage and that the store was still operating normally, which reassured her. She added that anyone who violates the law should be held responsible and that customers still need official conclusions.
Witnesses reported that the crowd buying gold remained larger than the number of sellers and that business at the store was stable, with no interruptions.
Earlier, around 6:00 PM on April 6, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company issued an official comment regarding reports that its founder, Vu Minh Chau, and his son had been charged. The company said the matter involves company leadership and is being clarified by authorities in accordance with the law. It stated that it is cooperating with the investigation and providing full documents to assist verification.
The company emphasized that all business activities continue normally, remain stable, and are not disrupted. It also said it had reformed its governance toward independence to ensure transparency and efficiency in operations.
Bao Tin Minh Chau pledged that all gold, jewelry, and precious stone products supplied to the market meet standards for karat quality, weight, and overall quality. The company also said it would address any issues, if any, after official conclusions from the authorities.
