SIM verification for the primary subscriber has drawn widespread attention. A key question among mobile users is what happens if someone uses multiple SIM cards but has only one phone number registered for VNeID: will the other SIMs be locked?

The measure is intended to help individuals identify which numbers are registered in their name, confirm the numbers they are using, and remove numbers that are not registered by them or are no longer in use.
In response to questions raised on social media, operators’ guidelines indicate that secondary SIMs can still be used normally if they have been registered as primary with the carrier (either via the app or at a service point).
If secondary SIMs have not been verified with the carrier, users are advised to register if they want to keep those numbers.
For users who are unsure whether their secondary SIMs have been registered, the guidance is to contact the carrier’s helpline or check through the carrier’s app to see whether any information updates are required.
If all secondary SIMs have been registered with the correct information—full name, date of birth, personal identification number, and facial photo—users can continue using them normally.
When these numbers are also synced on VNeID in the “Phone numbers” section, users can review and confirm that the numbers are valid.
