Vietnam’s National Assembly elected Nguyen Van Quang as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court for the 2026–2031 term, approving his appointment in a vote held on the afternoon of April 7.
According to the vote results, 496 out of 496 delegates voted in favor of the Resolution on the appointment of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court. Following the decision, Nguyen Van Quang took an oath before the National Assembly and the people.
In his oath, Nguyen Van Quang said he would be “absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the people and to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,” and would strive to fulfill the duties entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.
Nguyen Van Quang was born in 1969 in Cat Hai Special Zone, Hai Phong City. He holds a Doctor of Law, an undergraduate degree in Law, and a college degree in the Procuracy.
