The Hoàng Cầu – Voi Phục section of Ring Road 1 in Hanoi is about 2.27 km long, with a 50 m cross-section. The route starts at the Hoàng Cầu junction, connects with the Cat Linh – La Thành – Yên Lãng axes, and ends at the Voi Phục junction.
Hanoi authorities have directed acceleration of site clearance in the La Thành area, targeting completion by 15 December 2025. This is intended to enable technical readiness for traffic on 14 January 2026. The project’s total investment is about 7,200 billion VND.
To date, foundation and substructure works have been implemented, including earthworks, ground reinforcement, and sand laying. Some segments have begun paving asphalt concrete, and the total construction volume across the project has surpassed 40%.
A 350 m section from the slope near Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to the Voi Phục junction has asphalt concrete and base layer 1 laid. The contractor is continuing with base layer 2, expected to be completed in early April.
The Lang Ha – Giang Vo overpass includes seven spans of prestressed concrete box girders, with a deck width of 18 m and four lanes in two directions, totaling about 250.7 m in length. The overpass at the Nguyen Chi Thanh junction is designed with six spans, four lanes, totaling about 220.7 m in length.
The Lang Ha – Giang Vo overpass package began in June 2020 and is now in a high-speed construction phase. The Giang Vo overpass has an overall length of about 440 m; to date, five of six piers are complete, with the remaining pier being accelerated.
The project currently operates three shifts per day, reducing construction time from about 17 months to around 12 months while maintaining quality. The Giang Vo overpass is expected to be completed before 31 December 2026.
After clearance, many houses along the route reveal their rear structures. When completed, Ring Road 1 from Hanoi – Hoàng Cầu to Voi Phục is expected to relieve traffic pressure in central Hanoi.
