Da Nang International Terminal 2 has overcome challenges by handling passenger traffic that exceeded 70% of its design capacity, and has been officially awarded a 5-star rating by Skytrax for the third consecutive year in the March 2026 annual evaluation. Skytrax, the international aviation consulting and rating organization, announced the latest results for Da Nang International Terminal 2. According to Da Nang International Passenger Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), the terminal’s operator, the facility has again defended the prestigious 5-Star title. The independent assessment shows Terminal 2 has maintained the highest standards across a range of core categories. The entire terminal space, waiting areas, cleanliness, passenger information systems, service amenities, and the digital experience all meet the stringent requirements set by international experts. This historic milestone carries significant meaning as Terminal 2 faces the greatest operating pressure since opening. In 2025 alone, the facility served more than 6.8 million passengers, exceeding 70% of the originally designed capacity of 4 million passengers per year. Despite the strong efforts, Skytrax also cautioned that continued growth in passenger traffic, especially during peak periods, could pose a risk to the passenger experience if infrastructure expansion is not implemented in a timely manner. In an interview with Xây Dựng newspaper, Mr. Đỗ Trọng Hậu, Deputy General Director of AHT, affirmed that maintaining the 5-Star standard for the third consecutive year is both a source of pride and a major responsibility. The pressure on infrastructure and service quality is increasing, necessitating the expansion of Terminal 2 as a precondition. Future upgrade plans aim not only to address capacity but also to uphold international service standards, meet rising passenger expectations, and protect Da Nang’s image as an important gateway for trade.
