After opening with buying/selling levels of 170.1 million–173.1 million VND per tael, SJC cut both sides by 600,000 VND per tael versus the April 6 close. By 10:30, SJC quoted buying at 169.5 million and selling at 172.5 million VND per tael.
DOJI, PNJ and Ngọc Thẩm also quoted gold-bar trading prices at 169.5 million–172.5 million VND per tael. Compared with the close on April 6, these brands’ gold-bar prices declined by 600,000 VND per tael on both sides.
In the morning session, prices of gold bars and rings at companies fell by 600,000–1,000,000 VND per tael, narrowing the gap between domestic and world gold prices by more than 8 million VND since the March 20 peak, equivalent to a 38.12% drop.
At Mi Hồng, after two declines and one rise within the first three hours of opening, SJC gold bars fell by 600,000 VND per tael on both buy and sell. By 10:00, the brand quoted gold-bar prices at 170.5 million–172.5 million VND per tael.
Phu Quý quoted selling prices for gold bars at 172.5 million VND per tael, while buying was at 169.2 million VND per tael. Versus the April 6 close, buying fell by 900,000 VND per tael and selling fell by 600,000 VND per tael.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau and Bao Tin Manh Hai, SJC gold-bar trading prices remained unchanged at 170.1 million–173.1 million VND per tael throughout the morning session, with no change versus the April 6 close.
As of 10:30 on April 7, DOJI quoted 9999 round rings at 169.5–172.5 million VND per tael (buy–sell). Compared with the April 6 close, the ring’s buying price also fell by 600,000 VND per tael on both sides. DOJI remained the only brand listing the 4-digit 9 ring price equivalent to SJC bars, and it had the highest selling price in the market that morning.
Phu Quy recorded two consecutive downward adjustments. The 9999 round rings opened at 169.6–172.6 million VND per tael (buy–sell), then declined by 600,000 VND per tael on both sides within two hours to 169–172 million VND per tael. By 10:30, prices were stable. Compared with the April 6 close, ring prices at this brand decreased by a total of 900,000 VND per tael.
Ngọc Thẩm recorded the largest adjustment, with ring prices at 157–161 million VND per tael by 10:30. Compared with the April 6 close, ring prices fell by 1,000,000 VND per tael on both sides.
PNJ’s 4-digit 9 rings remained unchanged at 169 million VND per tael (buy) and 172 million VND per tael (sell) during the morning session.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau and Bao Tin Manh Hai, the 9999 round rings were quoted at 168.1 million–171.1 million VND per tael as of 10:00 on April 7, unchanged from the April 6 close.
On the world market, spot gold prices were almost unchanged from the previous session (April 6). By 10:30 on April 7, prices fluctuated around 4,648.5 USD/oz.
According to Vietcombank rates (including taxes and fees), the spread between domestic bar prices and world gold prices generally stood at 23.24 million VND per tael. For 4-digit 9 rings, the spread ranged from 11.74–23.24 million VND per tael, depending on the brand.
