Techcombank and Mobifone have officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement, aiming to connect the finance, telecommunications and digital technology sectors and to build an international-standard digital ecosystem supporting Vietnam’s emerging digital economy.
Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly implement comprehensive financial solutions for both corporate and individual customers. They will also promote marketing programs and loyalty schemes to increase customer access and engagement.
By integrating financial services onto the telecommunications platform, the cooperation is expected to deliver a more seamless and convenient customer experience, expand cashless payment adoption, and broaden access to financial services across a wider range of customer segments.
The cooperation will focus on developing digital financial platforms and payment intermediaries. It will also leverage big data and artificial intelligence to strengthen analytical capabilities and support more personalized services.
In parallel, the parties plan to enhance connectivity across telecom infrastructure, data centers and cloud computing. They will deploy information security measures, electronic identity verification and secure transaction controls to support safe, sustainable and scalable platform operations over the long term.
Beyond day-to-day business cooperation, the agreement reflects a long-term vision to accompany Vietnam as it enters a new development era in which technology, data and connectivity become core growth drivers. The two sides aim to build an open ecosystem with deep integration between financial and telecommunications services to create added value for users and enterprises.
At the signing event, Mr. Tran Duc Thanh, Acting CEO of Mobifone, said: “With the complementary strengths of telecom infrastructure, technology, data on one side and financial, banking, and risk management capabilities on the other, Mobifone and Techcombank will create differentiated products and services that deliver real value to customers and the market. Today’s signing is not only the start of a new phase of cooperation but also demonstrates the strong commitment of Mobifone and Techcombank to support the national digital transformation and to drive the development of a digital economy and digital society in Vietnam.”
Ms. Nguyen Thu Lan, Vice Chairwoman of Techcombank’s Board of Directors, added: “We believe that alignment in digitalization and data strategies will help both parties quickly realize a comprehensive ecosystem, enabling continued leadership in digitalization and the creation of superior value for customers and partners. This provides strong motivation to take Techcombank and Mobifone to a higher level.”
On that basis, the cooperation is expected to raise service standards in both banking and telecommunications, foster innovation, enhance national competitiveness, and contribute to Vietnam’s goals for developing a digital economy. It is also described as a concrete step toward Vietnam’s ambition for leading enterprises to proactively form alliances, leverage internal strengths and seize opportunities from the global technology wave.
