In the morning, the National Assembly convened in a private session to review and decide on several matters related to personnel work and the organization of the state apparatus.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court submitted a list for the National Assembly to approve the appointment of a judge of the Supreme People’s Court. After hearing the appraisal report, the National Assembly discussed the matter, conducted a secret ballot, and approved the resolution.
The National Assembly also considered the structure of the Government’s number of members. It discussed and voted on a resolution regarding the composition of the Government using electronic voting.
On the Prime Minister’s proposal, the National Assembly discussed and conducted a secret ballot to approve the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other Government members; related resolutions were approved by vote.
During the session, the National Assembly considered the President’s proposal on the list of Vice Presidents and members of the National Defense and Security Council. After a secret ballot, the National Assembly approved the resolution in accordance with prescribed procedures.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly continued its work programme by hearing presentations on draft laws and accompanying appraisal reports for several important laws and resolutions, ahead of committee discussions.
The Minister of Justice, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister, presented the proposal for the Capital City Law (amended) and the National Assembly draft resolution on the coordination mechanism and special policies to enhance the effectiveness of preventing and resolving international investment disputes.
The Chair of the Legal and Judicial Committee presented the appraisal report on the Capital City Law (amended). The Chair of the Economic and Financial Committee presented the appraisal report on the draft resolution regarding the coordination mechanism and special policies for preventing and resolving international investment disputes.
The National Assembly heard the Minister of Home Affairs present the proposal to amend and supplement certain provisions of the Emulation and Rewards Law. The Minister of Ethnic Affairs and Religion presented the proposal for the Belief and Religion Law (amended). These matters were reported by the Chair of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the proposal to amend and supplement certain provisions of the Law on Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad. The Chair of the Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee presented the appraisal report on this draft law.
At the end of the day’s programme, the National Assembly debated in committees on the Capital City Law (amended), the Emulation and Rewards Law (amended), and the Belief and Religion Law (amended).
