Distributor 3388 Films said Trấn Thành’s film Thỏ ơi officially surpassed $1 million in international box office after its first week of release in North American and European markets, according to Variety.
The distributor said the milestone makes Thỏ ơi the second-highest opening revenue among Vietnamese films in North America and Europe. 3388 Films also reported that the film is leading Vietnamese film revenue in 2026 both domestically and internationally.
Based on the results, 3388 Films plans to expand distribution to Japan, Thailand, Taiwan (China) and Mongolia starting May 22. The company also indicated that other markets in Europe and Asia are included in its rollout plan.
Thỏ ơi was directed and written by Trấn Thành. The cast includes Pháo, Lyly, Văn Mai Hương and Quốc Anh. The film was produced in cooperation by Tran Thanh Town, Galaxy Studio and HKFilm.
3388 Films said it is strengthening its role as a bridge to bring Vietnamese cinema to global cinema chains through a professional distribution strategy. Prior to Thỏ ơi, the company released Mai, which grossed over $2 million in North America and Europe.
In addition, 3388 Films has announced international distribution plans for the family drama Scent of Pho (Mùi Phở), as part of its effort to expand its distribution network and increase Vietnamese cinema’s presence in major theater chains worldwide.
